Catechists
At Stella Maris Parish, we are blessed by a dedicated team of catechists who generously give their time, talent, and faith to help form our young people from Grade 1 through Confirmation. More than teachers, our catechists are witnesses to the Gospel, accompanying children and teens as they grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
Using the Spirit of Truth and Family of Faith curriculums from Sophia Institute Press, our catechists provide a solid foundation in Catholic teaching while fostering a love for prayer, scripture, the Sacraments, and Christian discipleship. Through engaging lessons, meaningful discussions, and community engagement, they help students discover that the Catholic faith is not only something to learn about, but a way of life to be lived.
The ministry of catechesis is one of the most important works of the Church. Catechists partner with parents, who are the primary educators of their children in the faith, to nurture the next generation of Catholics. On a weekly basis, out catechists answer questions, share their experiences, prepare lessons, and create welcoming spaces where young people can encounter Christ.
We are deeply grateful for the men and women who serve in this ministry. Please keep our catechists, as well as our students and families, in your prayers as together we continue the mission of forming disciples who know, love, and serve the Lord.
